Daniel Gonzales is the owner and photographer of Rhyte Custom Photography. Setting the pace for creative and photo
journalistic photography in the El Paso area, his main goal is to provide clients with the highest quality service, while making the
whole photographic experience a joyful one.
It all started back in 1981. Daniel learned to shoot, process, and print photos from his oldest brother.
He went on to work at several photo labs including Fast Hour Foto and Jim's Photo Lab in El Paso. Enjoying working with
customers and continuing to learn about the photography business, he soon turned his hobby into a real profession when he was
hired to take pictures at a personal friend's wedding. (They're still married, today!)
In 1993, Daniel started taking pictures at sporting events with a fellow fire fighter. Word got out about the great quality
photographs. Soon, he started making money doing something he really loved! Best Images Photography was born.
Because he worked full time with the El Paso Fire Department, Daniel was able to provide quality work at
reasonable prices and continues to do so to this day!
Best Images was a flourishing success for more than 10 years. They specialized in "On Location" portraits and photo journalistic
Wedding Photography. (This was during a time when most photographers mainly shot in studios and only posed pictures at
weddings.) Best Images was ahead of it's time, now everyone boasts about giving their clients "candids" rather than
posed portraits.
Best Images soon opened up a studio to keep up with competition and continued to specialize in
"On Location" portraits, weddings, special events, and more. Daniel eventually moved his studio into a larger
location, where he could process and print his own photos. However, his partner soon retired and
he found himself looking toward the future. The future of digital photography!
In 2004, Daniel changed the name of his business to Rhyte Custom Photography,
in honor of his new baby, Xander Rhyte Gonzales.
Also returning to running the business from his home to spend time with his family
(He is proud to have his other son, Phillip Gonzales, taking part in the photography business)
Daniel continues to use his talent as a photographer and his winning personality
to provide clients with customized personalized service and prices anyone can afford.
